Retreat 2 Main Creek 2012 - the full details!

We would love you to join us for a weekend of relaxation & scrapping in a beautiful country setting. Retreat to Main Creek features 2 very large comfortable recreation rooms in which to scrap, as well as a fully self contained cottage in which to sleep! We will also be fully catered for all of our meals by gourmet cook & host, Marion. Those who have attended previous years, will remember how wonderfully we were looked after, the food is always amazing!!!

When: Friday 16th March until Sunday 18th March 2012
Where: Retreat to Main Creek, 877 Main Creek Rd, Via Dungog
Full weekend includes 2 nights accommodation at the Bower Cottage, dinner Fri night, breakfast & morning tea Sat & Sun, Lunch Sat & Sun, afternoon tea Sat & Sun, dinner Sat night
Cost: $250 ($225 for campers & mattresses on the floor)

At this stage there will be no formal classes at the retreat.
A small product pack will be provided, with some optional challenges which I hope you will all join in for the chance to win some prizes.
the rest of the weekend is freestyle scrapping!!! So come along and do as many pages as you can!
All you need to bring are your photos, and as many scrapping materials as you can fit in your car!
There will be scrap products available for you to purchase if you wish. We are lucky enough to have our very own scrap shop at the retreat, supplied by Peta from Scrapbooking From Scratch. If you are needing particular items, you should contact Peta or I in advance so your specific order can be arranged.
A non-refundable deposit of $50 will be required when booking, to secure your place.
Please note that there will be a maximum of 15 places available, and those booking the full weekend will be given preference.

Woohoo, I have a day off work and finally time to update my blog!

It is school holidays and the kids & I are enjoying the break.

I haven't had much time for creating, but here are some canvases I completed a few weeks ago from Christy Tomlinson's she art canvas course. I am still enjoying it, it is so much fun.

10x10 - creating a scene using paper, paint and stamping 8x8 - create a background scene using art mediums only - no paper!

and yes people - those are birds.....fully pushing my comfort zone!!!

Retreat scrapping

Last weekend I was lucky enough to go to the ScrapBoutique winter retreat at Noonaweena, it was just wonderful.

Here are some of my pages I completed, I ran out of daylight to photograph them all!

This is my white with one entry....white, red and polkdots.

My Kraft it Up entry - create a timeline, I used the photos of the kids and my dad blowing out his birthday candles - the before photo, blowing out the candles photo and the afterwards pose!
My scrap the boys entry - red, yellow, turquoise and white

my entry for Sonia's challenge at the boutique - from memory, I think the criteria was stamping, mixed alpha and someone who makes you smile (my gorgeous nephew) OH and repeated embellishments, I used stars.

this was my take on the chinese whispers challenge that has been dragging on for a while at the boutique LOL, I was last in the line!

I will try and find time to upload the other pages in the next week or so!

oops!

Thought it was time to update my neglected blog with lots of stuff that has been happening!

the past month has been very busy, I am currently working 5 days a week (shock horror to my poor body!) until Red Nose day and our Charity ball are both over...we are just flast out busy!!

I have had NO time to scrap, but I did find this page which I hadn't shared yet, using the gorgeous Pink Paislee Daily Junque kit from SFS.

Lots has been happeing with our little family too. Both the girls started netball last month, Brielle is in her 1st year of sub-juniors and Izzy is doing the net-set-go program.

Here they are in the 1st week, Brielle won the weekly trophy for the best player :)

However, her netball career came to a crashing holt yesterday, when she fractured her wrist playing netball at school.....we spent 6.5hrs in emergency last night, and she will be in plaster for 6 weeks. it is very disappointing for her as she was going so well at netball :(

We had Ava & Rhys & Carla come for a sleepover a few weeks ago which was really nice.
We had a sad saturday 2 weeks ago when the next door neighbours 2 kelpies broke into our chicken cage and killed Declan's beautiful chook "Featherwing" and 2 of our cute chickens :( the kids and I were just devastated as we had become very attached to our new pets. There are 2 chickens remaining and they seem to have recovered from their ordeal, and have buddied up with our other big chooks.

In happier news, Declan and I went to "Walking with Dinosaurs" last week at the entertainment centre and it was AWESOME!!!! the dinsaurs were so cool, and declan was enthralled.

thats about all for now, I am off to the ScrapBoutique retreat next weekend and I can't wait to get away and relax and do some scrapping!!!

She Art

After seeing all the beautiful canvas creations around the web, I signed up for Christy Tomlinson's She Art online class, and it is awesome!!!! I am having so much fun with all the paint, mists, stencils and messy stuff! here are my canvases in order of completion.....

learnt a lesson here about using mists and mod podge! colours ran a little bit :(

A4 - completed this morning, a bit too big for me I think, found it hard to fill the extra space.

As you can see they have gotten more detailed as I went on and watched more of the videos and got more tips from Christy. I am just loving using all the older stuff dfrom my stash which I never thought I would ever use again like my stamps, inks, rub-ons and even my old heat gun!

still have a few blank canvases left, can't wait to play some more.

Photo update

Just for Paula Flano, an overdue blog update!!

We just had a wonderful LONG weekend over Easter at our van, which was so relaxing and we were so lucky the weather was perfect!! very unusual for an easter weekend....

I have done some scrapping, but keep forgetting to take pics of my pages, so I will share some recent piccies instead....

Here is my beautiful niece Ava, at 5 weeks old!

Carla and I put her in a basket, as prompted by Kristy Rinkin! so cute.....
